B/E Aerospace, a wholly owned subsidiary of Rockwell Collins Inc., is a leading manufacturer of aircraft interior products and solutions.  The Interior Systems Corporate Procurement office oversees the Interior Systems spend, both product and non-product.  As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Senior Indirect Procurement Analyst in our Interior Systems Corporate Procurement business located in Winston Salem, North Carolina.

 

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Global Sourcing & Supply Chain, the Senior Indirect Procurement Analyst will be responsible to manage, plan, and execute the strategic procurement direction across Interior Systems (IS) of all non-production spend within numerous commodities including Contract Labor, Contract Engineering, Engineering Services, HR Services, HR Benefits, HR Recruiting, MRO, Janitorial/Maintenance/Waste, Capital Projects, Leased Equipment, Industrial Equipment, Industrial Gas/Chemicals, Office Supplies, Uniforms, Utilities and Food Services, which in aggregate is roughly $150M in annual spend. 

Assignments are typically complex and generally involve strategic sourcing, planning and execution activities for products and/or service processes across the global IS footprint, as well as across the greater Rockwell Collins where cost synergies exist.  The successful incumbent will have a solid understanding of cost accounting principles; will lead and participate in the monthly, quarterly and annual management and strategic reporting processes; effectively apply value engineering principles to conduct studies and provide detailed cost / financial analyses as required by the business, segment and corporate management and provide contract cost and pricing data as needed.  The Senior Indirect Procurement Analyst will also possess solid supply chain and procurement knowledge, thrive in a fast-paced business environment, and have a strong understanding of business disciplines including the ability to apply well-defined work techniques and procedures in day-to-day activities. This position will be a critical team member supporting the corporate Procurement functions.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the Corporate point person for Interior Systems; provide high level analytic support to the Indirect Procurement team
  • Independently organize moderately-complex program-based activities requiring regular interaction with various cross-functional stakeholders, including Engineering, HR, Procurement, Facilities, Production, Quality and other departments
  • Perform materials requirement analysis using various procurement and systems tools
  • Negotiate and issue contracts to meet the long-range quality, delivery and cost targets of assigned commodities
  • Research, collect and analyze data to enable the creation of recurring internal reports and ad hoc requests from external and internal customers
  • Develop higher-level knowledge and skills required to independently resolve complex issues and perform sophisticated strategic sourcing and cost reduction analyses
  • Create Executive level presentations and reports, update metrics and forecast data
  • Analyze actual operational costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard to actual costs
  • Investigate, identify and qualify existing and new sources for assigned commodities including method of procurement, analysis of current and forecasted market trends, and supplier performance
  • Suggest, investigate, implement, and interface with global sites cost saving and value optimizing initiatives
  • Monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned commodities to assure best quality at best value
  • Prepare Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Quote (RFQs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs); review and negotiate terms and conditions with internal legal contracting, solicit bids and quotations; review and negotiate purchase agreements, amendments and other contract drafts for major commitments in line with corporate guidelines; analyze and evaluate bids including “should cost” modeling to assess the true landed costs; develop supplier selection, and issue bid awards
  • Monitor supplier performance across enterprise sites and initiate global corrective actions as required; perform supplier commercial audits and visits when requested
  • Participate in program make/buy events, monitor and reports on cost savings initiatives, optimize common material and service costs and quality across all locations
  • Establish processes to review purchases across all sites starting with key commodities
  • Maintain and administer contracts database
  • Determine minimum order quantities and inventory level optimization
  • Drive the non-production procurement process by designing, implementing and managing projects to a successful conclusion by establishing accountability, timelines and goals
  • Leverage interpersonal skills and develop relationships to establish rapport with all key stakeholders
  • Work closely with the functional business units to create value added category strategies and hold strong sourcing events
  • Perform other related duties as required

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university
  • Minimum of five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • The candidate will need to have interpersonal, communications and problem solving skills.   They should display a passion for strategic sourcing, supply management and operational procurement
