As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Quality Engineer in our Seating Manufacturing business located in Winston-Salem, NC.


The Quality Engineer plans and directs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for manufacturing processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties:



  • Develops and applies advanced Quality Engineering theories, methods, and research techniques in the development, establishment, and maintenance of quality assurance/control policies, procedures, and methods.
  • Develops sampling plans, quality standards, process controls and quality control instructions to be utilized by manufacturing, test, and inspection in assessing the quality levels of products and processes.
  • Provides recommendations concerning the disposition of defective materials.
  • Makes determinations regarding conformance to FAA-approved design data and applicable Federal Aerospace Regulations.
  • Develops and reviews corrective actions recommended on audit reports, investigations, and performance trends for adequacy and to maintain a continuing awareness of quality problems.
  • Works within a cross-functional manufacturing environment providing technical guidance to lower level engineers, technicians and inspectors.



  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited four-year college or university.
  • A minimum three (3) years related experience; or an equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work experience within the engineering and manufacturing sciences.
  • Well organized with solid judgment; able to multitask and adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Must have demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders; demonstrated success writing standard work, work instructions, lesson plans for training and technical reports.
  • Demonstrated application of critical reasoning, root cause analysis, statistical process control, DMAIC or equivalent improvement methods and development of effective process measures/metrics.
  • Previous experience successfully using Microsoft Office products, with emphasis on Excel; experience working in an ERP.
  • Demonstrated application to read, understand, interpret, and communicate technical and government requirements and specifications.
  • Previous experience using measuring devices and CMM equipment to dimension key characteristics of parts, sub-assemblies and final products.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver effective results in a manufacturing environment.



  • Four (4) years of related experience within an aerospace and/or assembly environment.
  • A Bachelor’s of Science degree in mechanical, aerospace, electrical, manufacturing or industrial engineering.
  • Experience in the application of ISO9000/AS9100/9102 and FAA standards within a Quality Management System.
  • Experience within the Quality function in aerospace, automotive or complex manufacturing, fabrication and assembly environments.
  • Lean Six Sigma training and experience.
  • Process and workflow mapping.
  • Experience using SAP in a manufacturing environment.
