As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Purchasing Supervisor in our Seating Operations - Fairchild business located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.





Supervises and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in purchasing and distributing raw materials, equipment, machinery and supplies.  The incumbent will also participate in these daily activities.




  • Provides work direction to employees involved in the external procurement of raw materials, parts, supplies and services at minimum cost consistent with delivery requirements and quality specifications
  • Reviews and approves purchasing decisions, orders, and vendor contracts within authorized limits
  • Oversees the ordering of materials and supplies from vendors
  • Coordinates purchasing activities with user departments to maintain inventory and buy-levels at optimum levels
  • Performs other related duties as required




Directly supervises exempt and/or nonexempt associates.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training and developing associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.




  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; and five plus years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have strong people management experience
  • Must have strong purchasing/procurement experience
  • Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and other stakeholders
  • Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Must have strong written & verbal communication skills
