B/E Summer Intern Program:
The B/E Summer Intern Program is a ten week summer program that provides candidates with:

  • Practical experience on relevant aerospace and engineering projects while working with designated mentors

Over the course of a summer session, students are encouraged to participate in social and networking activities, many of which are organized by the university relations department.
 

Intern role and responsibilities include:

  • Complete assigned project
  • Attend meetings related to project and department
  • Attend corporate events provided for interns
  • Prepare a final presentation for Senior Leadership

 Specific Details about this internship

  • Apply basic engineering principles to perform routine design, fabrication, modification and evaluation of mechanical and electromechanical components of commercial aircraft seating systems.
  • Perform CAD drafting duties including modeling, detailed drawings, Bill of Materials creation, etc.
  • Conduct analysis or tests of routine degree of complexity pertaining to the development of new designs, methods, materials, or processes.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

 Qualifications:

  • Minimum GPA  of 3.0
  • Completion of sophomore year
  • Enrollment in a degree program for the fall 2019 semester

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstration of effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing roles; comfortable working towards firm deadlines for completion of work; and have desire to rapidly develop skills.
  • Experience with a 3D modeling program.  Experience with Unigraphic version NX5 or higher highly or Catia V5 is highly desired
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel required.
  • Ability to function in a team environment with multi-disciplinary members
  • Previous internships, research or project experience in relevant field
