JOB SUMMARY

 

Reporting to the Senior Manager of IT PMO, the IT Business Analyst II will analyze business and technical processes to formulate and develop new and modified business information processing systems, such as production and inventory control systems, financial tracking systems, marketing and human resources systems. The Business Analyst II will also represent the business unit to define requirements and business cases for the technology developments and coordinate with business and technology teams, ascertaining system requirements, such as program functions, output requirements, input data acquisition, and system techniques and controls. This role requires knowledge of e-commerce tools, computer system capabilities, business processes, and work flow.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Elicits requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task- and work-flow analyses; translates business requirements into business justifications and requirement specifications and manages requests for changes to the specifications
  • Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, decomposes high-level information into details, abstracts up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguishes user requests from the underlying true needs
  • Assists the business in determining which business requirements can and should be improved and how these functions are integrated into the rest of the business and technical processes
  • Creates and manages business and project metrics
  • Pro-actively communicates and collaborates with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and delivers the following artifacts as needed: functional requirements (Business Requirements Document), use cases, GUI, screen and interface designs
  • Drives and challenges business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans; develops business justifications for change
  • Executes value stream mapping and lean optimization sessions to develop new processes
  • Executes Proof of Concept evaluations and leads minor implementations
  • Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow
  • Collaborates with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze trade-offs between usability and performance needs
  • Supports project definition and initial cost assessment of projects
  • Researches new technologies and provides consultation to users in the area of automated systems
  • May lead and direct the work of others
  • Evaluates industry trends relating to data interoperability and application roadmaps
  • Provide Business Support for the Teamcenter PLM system utilizing Web-based, Internet and Oracle RDBMS technology
  • Formulate and implement project plans, requirements specifications, design specifications, test specifications and user-oriented documentation
  • Provide Development team and user support for Teamcenter PLM functions
  • Coordinate the development of new functionality
  • Ensure development/change process is followed
  • Develop/Evaluate business requirements
  • Assist with system design solution
  • Perform peer testing
  • Conduct and coordinate user testing and training
  • Identify and resolve problems affecting PLM applications

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year university in Information Technology or similar field plus six years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrate technical writing and documenting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • PLM/CAD system knowledge
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Experience with A350 Airbus Tools & DMU
  • Experience with supporting Teamcenter, NX, and CATIA, Teamcenter workflow experience, Teamcenter multi-site experience, drawing control systems, assembly constraints, master model design methodology, dataset revision control methods, Teamcenter database schema design and management, and NX application administration and support experience.
  • Experience with NX Manager and CATIA Manager and how structure relates to the BOM and CAD Assembly
  • Ability to work across multiple sites scattered geographically
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Experience with supporting, testing, deploying, and documenting Catia V5 and Catia Integration with Teamcenter database
  • Experience with managing and administering Teamcenter databases and multi-site data synchronizations.
  • Experience supporting Teamcenter 8.1 or later
  • Experience supporting NX 7.5 or later
  • Experience with Teamcenter Change Manager
  • Analyzing process / technical requirements and developing business justifications
  • Exposure to engineering and PLM processes and applications
  • Value stream mapping and continuous improvement of businesses processes
  • Analysis of business use cases and development of conceptual process and technology solutions
  • Proven track record in leadership of small teams
  • Design and execution of proof of concept process and technology demonstrators.
  • Creation and execution of business metrics
  • Functional specification and test plan writing
