As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Materials Manager role within our Nogales, Mexico Composites facility.



Reporting to the VP / GM, the Materials Manager is responsible for managing controls and directs the activities and staff involved in the multiple functions of purchasing, material planning, stores, inventory control, operations planning and production control. .




  • Establishes and drives acheivement of all material goals year over year both internally and externally.
  • Creates and leads a continuous improvement operations environment that results in reduced material costs and inventories year over year
  • Ensures all MRP messages are aligned and accurate to drive the right material to achieve >97% kit fill rates and eliminate shortages to productions
  • Establish and improve all daily metrics for materials to achieve business goals using daily MRP reports
  • Ability to lead/support MRP implementation and set up to ensure all demand signals are accurate to support the production schedules and achieve the lowest inventory levels possible.
  • Performs analysis of customer demand, forecasts and historical material usage to develop and execute build to order and build to forecast plans.
  • Establish and implement methods and best practices related to the systems and process that support inventory forecasting, purchasing, and material control.
  • Prepares delivery reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends and uses information to proactively communicate potential late deliveries.
  • Aligns with production scheduling activities by monitoring material inventories, tracking progress of production and reviewing factors that affect material planning.
  • Establishes and continuously improve the material delivery processes to production
  • Develop and execute a sourcing strategy to meet the company’s business growth and sourcing requirements.
  • Identify, develop and manage effective relationships with existing and potential suppliers of goods and services to meet the established cost, quality and delivery targets.
  • Adhere to established company policies, procedures, terms and conditions and legal matters that affect purchasing policies.
  • Responsible for accuracy of inventory counts by implementing and managing, an inventory control system, capable of identifying discrepancies in inventory counts and taking corrective action to guard against inconsistencies in the future.
  • Responsible for analyzing the present inventory and evaluating the reduction of inventory carried to reduce the overhead cost while still meeting the delivery dates.
  • Develops strategies and plans to achieve 4 inventory turns per year.
  • Achieves financial objectives by working with management group to prepare the materials budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances and initiate corrective actions.
  • Participates to resolve quality issues working with both internal and external resources.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality to achieve cost reduction targets. Coordinates transportation and warehousing of incoming and outgoing materials
  • Ensures compliance with legal/governmental regulations.



  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university or an equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work experience.
  • Must have at least three years related experience
  • Previous lead/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of MRP systems in a manufacturing environment



  • Working knowledge of JDE and/or SAP
  • Solid understanding of how MRP works and the proper metrics required to ensure demand signals are accurate and actions from messages are completed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to demonstrate solid written and oral communications
  • Requires prior experience building productive working relationships with internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
