As a leader in the aerospace industry, we have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Senior Supply Chain Manager in our Interior Systems business located in Shanghai, China.  

 

JOB SUMMARY

 

Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain the Senior Supply Chain Manager will provide leadership in developing strategies to enhance the overall quality of incoming product through supplier management and development. This person will also serve as a leader and a resource regarding supplier quality issues, problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.

 

The primary focus of this position includes Purchasing, Commodity Management, and Suppler Development. The role will also champion key supplier and supply chain initiatives.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Provides input from a China and LCC perspective into the development of Supply Chain initiatives, best practices and strategies, ensuring effective implementation and execution
  • Maintains a focus on overall global commodities with an understanding of the needs to meet local sourcing requirements
  • Manages supplier relationships (including scorecards, internal metrics and inventory control)
  • Integrates large scale cost savings, driving those through all business units
  • Supports enterprise initiatives and develops global sourcing strategies for a range of commodities ensuring those are migrated into the existing supply chain with minimum interruption and maximum cost reduction
  • Insures suppliers are held accountable for meeting continuous improvement initiatives both from a strategic and tactical perspective including lead time reduction, flexibility to schedules, quality improvement, inventory reduction (entire supply chain) and cost reduction on a year over year basis
  • Develops strategic relationships with a targeted global supplier base in Asia, Eastern Europe and North and South America with integration across business units
  • Leads performance improvement programs throughout the supply chain using overall leadership experience and plays a key role in the implementation of Continuous Improvement techniques throughout the organization
  • Performs other related duties as required

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Eight years of related experience. Or an equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work and life experience
  • English Speaking

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • A Master of Business Administration (MBA or M.B.A.) degree is preferred
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry, especially aerospace
  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of labor market conditions
  • Experience working in large organizations with a geographically dispersed workforce
  • Well organized with solid judgment; able to multitask and adjust to changing priorities
  • Desire to identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead projects to make improvements to processes, procedures, etc.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders including Senior Leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to build credibility with, interact with, and influence suppliers, customers, and key stakeholders; Ability to build strong relationships
