The Rockwell Collins Interior Systems Summer Intern Program affords students the ability to:

  • Work on projects and programs currently in progress at Rockwell Collins Interior Systems, which allows the intern to apply knowledge that contributes to the overall business

  • Complete assigned project
  • Attend meetings related to project and department
  • Attend corporate events provided for interns
  • Prepare a final presentation for Senior Leadership
  • Develops and implements quality improvement and problem prevention procedures to continuously improve process efficiency, reduce quality problems and ensure c0omplaiance with customer requirements.
  • Consults with supervisor and personnel on better operational procedures to improve overall efficiency and product yields.
  • Seek and evaluate input from manufacturing aimed at reducing costs, improving quality and increasing throughput.
  • Performs other related duties as required or as assigned.



  • Minimum GPA  of 3.0

  • Completion of sophomore year
  • Enrollment in a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD program for the Fall 2019 semester in Mechanical Engineering




  • Demonstration of effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to function in a team environment with multi-disciplinary members
  • Previous internships, research or project experience in relevant field
