Lead Field Support Technician

As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Lead Field Support Technician in our Product Support business located in North Charleston, SC.



Performs service activities associated with installing, maintaining and servicing products at customer sites or in-house.



  • Provides support to customers in solving technical problems incurred in the installation or operation of company products; consults with customers regarding pre and post-installation problems; may review customer equipment interface requirements.
  • Conducts orientation and training of customer personnel in the technical operation and maintenance of equipment; may conduct technical seminars and training for custom or company personnel, as well as informal on-the-job training for other field service staff members and customers.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses system/equipment interface problems during installations.
  • Performs preventive maintenance, modifications and field changes to installed equipment as necessary.
  • Conducts startup, cut-over and check-out activities on newly installed systems.
  • Prepares operations and malfunction reports and associated documentation.
  • Performs modification and field change to installed equipment.
  • Assists engineering in determining and solving equipment design problems, evaluating product performance and conducting field trials.
  • Provides support in the conduct and performance of equipment/system acceptance testing following installation.
  • Performs preventive maintenance, modifications and field changes to installed equipment as necessary.
  • May provide work leadership to lower level field support staff.



  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
  • Minimum 6-years’ related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus



  • FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe Rating
  • Aircraft maintenance background
  • Experience with troubleshooting electrical systems using wiring diagrams and a multimeter
