The Lavatories and Water Waste Systems division of Rockwell Collins formerly B/E Aerospace is the sole source lavatory provider for the Boeing 737 MAX program. The Lavatories and Water Waste Systems Advanced Lavatory is a cutting edge product, offering a unique value proposition that allows airlines to increase revenue and lower operational cost.  Our highly dedicated team is situated next to Paine Field in Everett, Washington.  From this state of the art manufacturing and engineering facility, the Lavatories and Water Waste Systems supports its global airline customer base as well as the OEM.

 

As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Product Engineer in our Lavatories and Water Waste Systems business located in Everett, WA.

 

 

JOB SUMMARY

 

Reporting to the Engineering Manager the Product  Engineer plans, designs and analysis of the construction and use of equipment and parts for aircraft cabin interiors. Performs complex assignments often requiring development of new or improved products/processes/techniques.  Assesses feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tests/products/equipment.  The position requires an ability to interpret, on a broad basis, the principles, theories, and concepts of an engineering specialty.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Contributes to successful project completion by participating in the resolution of issues such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard material, and difficult coordination requirements.
  • Coordinates project activities with other operating or engineering units to facilitate participation of appropriate staff in project completion.
  • Provides technical leadership to a group of temporarily assigned engineers and technicians.
  • Reviews project-related documentation to ensure its accuracy.
  • Participates in professional organizations to maintain current knowledge of technical innovations.
  • Assists in determining project objectives to contribute to the development of a comprehensive project design.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from four-year college or university; and at least three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Ideal candidate has mechanical design experience utilizing Siemens NX CAD software and Teamcenter PLM.
  • Preferred product knowledge base includes, but is not limited to, fluid handling equipment such as actuated or manual valves, pumping equipment, high speed blowers or fans, plumbing elements, thin-walled pressure vessels, and fluid/pneumatic seal designs.
