The Lavatories and Water Waste Systems division of Collins Aerospace formerly B/E Aerospace is the sole source lavatory provider for the Boeing 737 MAX program. The Lavatories and Water Waste Systems Advanced Lavatory is a cutting edge product, offering a unique value proposition that allows airlines to increase revenue and lower operational cost.  Our highly dedicated team is situated next to Paine Field in Everett, Washington.  From this state of the art manufacturing and engineering facility, the Lavatories and Water Waste Systems supports its global airline customer base as well as the OEM.


As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Electrical Project Engineer in our Lavatories and Water Waste Systems business located in Everett, WA.




Reporting to the Engineering Manager the Electrical Project Engineer plans, designs, and performs validation-verification programs for various sensors and motor controllers for use in the water and waste systems. Performs standard engineering assignments usually representing a significant portion of a larger project. Assesses feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tests/products/equipment.  The position requires an ability to interpret, on a broad basis, the principles, theories, and concepts of an engineering specialty.



  • Design analog and / or digital circuit for 28 V / 115 V or signals.
  • Leverage existing and/or initiate new designs for level sensors in water and waste tanks, noncontact, I/O feedbacks, et al.
  • Generate AC / DC motor controller for brushed/brushless motors, OTS as well as internally designed motors
  • Prepare and review detailed documentation for product design including BOM, circuit schematic, specifications, test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
  • Perform design work with Altium.
  • Ensures successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.
  • Participates in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work.
  • Contributes to successful project completion by participating in the resolution of issues such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard material, and difficult coordination requirements.
  • Assists in determining project objectives to contribute to the development of a comprehensive project design.
  • Performs RCCA, and develops remediation/solutions.
  • Initiates and maintains design data throughout the technical maturity phases.
  • Reviews project-related documentation to ensure its accuracy.
  • Generates artifacts and reports to provide objective evidence of compliance to requirements.
  • Participates in professional organizations to maintain current knowledge of technical innovations.
  • Performs other related duties as required.



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from four-year college/university or equivalent industry experience of six (6) years minimum
  • Experience in sensor and/or motor controller hardware design, from initial concept to qualification.
  • Technical writing for reporting.



  • Preferred product knowledge base includes, but is not limited to, fluid handling equipment such as motor operated valves, pumping equipment, high speed blowers or fans, and sensors.
  • Working knowledge of aerospace power electronics, system power budget and allocation, and EMC.
  • Familiarity with commercial aircraft system design practices, electrical requirements and component qualification requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with assembly, troubleshooting, and testing electrical systems and components.
