As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Director of Business Development in our Integration Engineering business located in Everett, WA.




The Director of Business Development will be responsible for driving the profitable growth of the Structures and Integration Group.  As part of the Leadership Team they will be responsible for preparing the Business Development Strategic Plan with a focus on product, channel, and customer strategies.




  • Provide Sales and Marketing vision and expertise, demonstrating a robust understanding of the marketplace and our competitors activity
  • Develop robust execution plan for the strategic initiatives through implementation, communications, planning and management reviews
  • Foster a strong working relationship with the airframe manufacturers and airlines to identify and develop the most profitable business opportunities for the group
  • Works with the New Product Development team to align development with market needs and maximize the return on investment
  • Build a high performing team, role modeling Leadership behaviors executing performance management and developing a highly skilled and effective team
  • Line management accountability for Business Development, Commercial, Sales and Marketing and responsible for the development of forecasting tools and processes
  • Generate and publish regular sales and customer metrics to update leadership and corporate functions on performance against the agreed objectives and strategies
  • Lead Customer engagement activity, ensuring every opportunity is maximized and the customer experience of our business is positive at all times
  • Develops strong value propositions and demonstrates strong negotiating and influencing skills
  • Demonstrates strong business acumen, has an excellent understanding of contracts and is comfortable in the role as lead negotiator in multi-million dollar contracts
  • Excellent presenter, articulate and demonstrates the ability to quickly and accurately assess situations, summarize and simplify problem statements
  • Financially astute, understands the numbers and able to present business models and financials to executives
  • Proactively manages and measures customer satisfaction and promptly resolves escalations
  • Responsible for effectively and efficiently generating quotes, tender responses, etc., in line with customer expectations, in process and to deadlines
  • Familiar with Seller Furnished Equipment (SFE) and Buyer Furnished Equipment (BFE) sales channels
  • Develops pricing strategies
  • Lead the development of marketing collateral for the business unit to include exhibition and other events
  • Resolve any commercial or contractual issues with existing customers and programs
  • Provide support to the team on contracts and other commercial agreements
  • Resource the function effectively, managing headcount within forecast and budget. Recruit best talent and provide opportunities for continued professional development
  • Develop talent and succession for the future business needs
  • Requires job specific proficiency and good working knowledge of standard aerospace practices, contracts, procedures and protocols
  • Interprets and applies data analysis, procedures and policies
  • Interfaces with Corporate Teams, Engineering, Certification, Program Management, Operations, Quality and Finance internally
  • Externally liaises with suppliers, customers and competitors





  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; and eight years related experience and/or training




  • MBA desirable.
  • Able to demonstrate extensive previous experience of designing and implementing sales strategies within similar industry
  • Proven track record of achievement in a relevant position
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the company’s customer base, their needs and requirements
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Driven, with a will to develop new skills and progress within the Company
  • Aerospace experience preferred
  • Familiarity and appreciation of the Corporate environment
  • Second language advantageous.
