The Lavatories & Water Waste Systems division of Rockwell Collins is the sole source lavatory provider for the Boeing 737 MAX program. The Lavatories and Water Waste Systems Advanced Lavatory is a cutting edge product, offering a unique value proposition that allows airlines to increase revenue and lower operational cost.  Our highly dedicated team is situated next to Paine Field in Everett, Washington.  From this state of the art manufacturing and engineering facility, the Lavatories and Water Waste Systems supports its global airline customer base as well as the OEM.

 

As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Buyer in our Lavatories & Water Waste Systems business located in Everett, WA.

 

 

JOB SUMMARY

 

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager the Buyer purchases materials, equipment, services, tooling and components to meet business unit production goals and department KPIs.

 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Purchases materials, parts, supplies, and equipment following established purchasing policies and procedures and optimizes price, delivery, and terms; purchases complex items where detailed specification is involved.
  • Guided by established policy and with minimum supervision, carries out broad assignments usually involving the purchase of important and critical items.
  • Solicits bids and quotations; analyzes and evaluates bids to determine optimum value; selects suppliers, issues purchase orders, follows up, and expedites as necessary; evaluates vendor reliability.
  • Suggests, investigates, implements, monitors and reports on cost savings initiatives; develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate.
  • Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, operations, suppliers, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
  • Works on practical problems in situations where limited standardization exists; exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for finding solutions.
  • Performs additional administrative duties including, but not limited to, those related to invoicing, supplier set up, and KPI reporting.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; and two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Well-versed in Excel, generating price / cost trade-offs and supplier down selection criteria. 
  • Experience in ERP data entry & reports.
  • Experience or background in Commercial or Military Aerospace is a plus.
  • Experience creating/managing databases with Microsoft Access is a plus.
