As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Summer Intern 2019 – Engineering in our Interior Systems Lavatories business located in Everett, Washington.

The Rockwell Collins Interior Systems Summer Intern Program affords students the ability to:

  • Access and work with state-of-the-art equipment
  • Learn and gain practical experience in a hands-on environment
  • Work on projects and programs currently in progress at Rockwell Collins Interior Systems, which allows the intern to apply knowledge that contributes to the overall business

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Structural analysis of interior monuments (hand calculations and FEA)
  • Creating macros to ease some of the processes
  • Perform & assist  structural testing of interior monuments
  • Analytical modelling of composite structures (determining the strength and stiffness of honeycomb panels)

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Completion of sophomore year
  • Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program for the Fall 2019 semester in related field (Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering)  
  • Available for a 12 week commitment between May – August 2019

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Background in finite element analysis and software packages (Nastran, Ansys etc.)
  • Knowledge on Visual Basic, MS office including Excel 
  • Enrolled in a Master's program is a plus
  • Completed course work in structurs and composites
