B/E’s Lighting & Integrated Systems offers a variety of solutions to business jet and commercial OEM’s as well as airlines directly. Major product lines include Interior Lighting, Exterior Lighting, Cabin Management System, Coax Cable & Trays, System Upgrade Provisions, Aerostructures & Interior Assemblies, Engineering, Design and Certification.

 

As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Staff Accountant in our Lighting & Integrated Systems business located in Bohemia, NY.

 

JOB SUMMARY 

 

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant applies accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Month-end journal entries and Account Reconciliations.
  • Maintain Fixed Assets and associated depreciation schedules.
  • Maintain Intercompany Schedules.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Bi-weekly payroll processing.
  • Customer and Vendor setup.
  • Perform financial analysis to support business performance and ensure control environment.
  • Sales Tax Compilation.
  • Maintain monthly journal entry and account rec logs.
  • Perform periodic filing of financial documents.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university and 1 year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Able to read and understand financial forms and reports
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and be able to meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Experience in the aerospace/aviation industry or manufacturing.
