B/E’s Lighting & Integrated Systems offers a variety of solutions to business jet and commercial OEM’s as well as airlines directly. Major product lines include Interior Lighting, Exterior Lighting, Cabin Management System, Coax Cable & Trays, System Upgrade Provisions, Engineering, Design and Certification.

 

As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Manufacturing Engineer in our Lighting & Integrated Systems business located in Bohemia, New York.

 

JOB SUMMARY

 

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with numerous departments in a production environment to maximize efficiency and quality of our product.

 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Implements, develops and maintain product/process improvements.
  • Teams with others in root cause analysis.
  • Applies engineering principles to drive interim and final solutions to technical, operational and quality issues as they relate to production.
  • Identifies documents, analyzes reported problems and communicates deviations that could impact design intent and safety.
  • Analyze manufacturability of product design. Participates in design reviews.
  • Plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, for maximum efficiency.
  • Identify and implement the development of new methods, materials, processes or standards.

     

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Mechanical Engineering,  Manufacturing Engineering  or similar and 5 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have a working knowledge of basic Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Must be CADD proficient.
  • Must have experience in writing method sheets; preferably for an Electronic assembly environment.
  • Must have proven experience of supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Must be Microsoft Office proficient; Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
  • Must be a self-starter and willing to work in a team environment.

     

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Aerospace industry experience.
  • SolidEdge experience.
