B/E Aerospace, Inc. Manufacturing Engineering Manager in United Kingdom
B/E Aerospace, a wholly owned subsidiary of Rockwell Collins Inc., is a leading manufacturer of aircraft interior products and we currently have some exciting positions based at our Leighton Buzzard facility, including a Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
Reporting to the Engineering Director, you will be required to manage a team of Manufacturing Engineers and ensure a manufacturing solution is delivered which meets and exceeds cost, quality and schedule requirements while working with closely and collaboratively with design engineering
Key responsibilities include –*
Provide leadership to the LB Manufacturing Engineering team
Develop the team to support Business needs and goals
Develop the Manufacturing Engineering role to become an integral part of up-stream Design through IPTs
Develop the Product through liaising with design Engineering and Production
Support the best practices for problem solving
Support Configuration Management development and Change Implementation
Support PB and LB operations to develop a lean manufacturing process
Lead Design for Manufacturing and Assembly workshops and lessons learnt
Liaise with other BE Manufacturing facilities to ensure correlation with Best Practices for MEs and Lean Principles
Identify training needs and implement training plans to ensure the team can support business requirements
Change Board participation and Engineering ownership
Participation in the Engineering Gate Processes to ensure on cost, on time & to specification. This includes Design Reviews, Drawing Reviews, BOM verification and Risk and Mitigation management.
Procurement support on manufacturing / design queries.
Establish recurring and non-recurring costs.
Define production line and workstation layout
Identify all tools and fixtures required to manufacture the product to the specifications and tolerances required
Outline standard work
Ensure a safe working environment is set and maintained
Any other duties as required to support business needs
The Ideal candidate will have the following –*
Engineering degree or ONC/HNC in design related field and/or proven related experience
Experience of monitoring and delivering a project plan, including budgets
Proven manufacturing engineering capability and experience to create effective engineered solutions
A working knowledge of manufacturing systems and sub systems integration and assembly
Some experience of guiding and coaching others
Experience of developing and implanting best practice and processes
Some of working successfully in an matrix environment
Previous experience of using Catia v5, TeamCenter and Aerospace structures and integrated systems would be desirable.
