As a leader in the aerospace industry, we have a number of exciting positions based in Bedfordshire, including a Lead Engineer – Customer Support.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Lead Engineer will be have the responsibility of leading Engineers and taking an active part of delivering the following activities:

  • To manage in house Technical Publications facility together with any outsource facilities (sub-contract) providing schemes of work required, planning schedules, obtaining quotations, raising PO’s, monitoring progress and quality.

  • To supply all CMM requirements (for new and existing) to dates set by contracts/projects/customers by prioritizing the work flow.

  • To support the Lead Engineer and Authors based in our offshore CMP (S1000D) authoring production with respect to:

  • Technical Content of Templates

  • Auditing CMP technical content..

  • Ensuring process and training manuals are up to date for the production of CMP’s.

  • Provide Customer Support and keep records for technical enquiries relating to Tech Pubs.

  • Author VSB’s and SIL’s when required.

  • To prepare and maintain adequate records showing progress, work completed and achievements within the budget restraints.

  • To follow established Company Procedures and working practices. To be a Focal for any future revisions and amendments.

  • The Ideal candidate will have the following –*

  • Degree or Diploma, HND or HND or proven ability gained within the Aerospace Industry through experience

  • Experience of managing small to medium complex projects and have the ability to work on own initiative and with little/minimum amount of senior management supervision

  • Knowledge of current software e.g. Cortona 3D, Framemaker, Teamcenter, Adobe Acrobat Professional and Adobe Illustrator and /or Isodraw.

  • A working Knowledge of specifications ATA100, Ispec2200 and S1000D

  • Experience of managing outsourced projects and personnel. Able to communicate what the requirements are clearly and concisely.

  • Liaison with Areas of expertise when required e.g. IT, Design, Project Management, Senior Management.

  • When necessary, liaise with IT providers to establish end results on new projects and upgrades.
