B/E Aerospace, Inc. Associate Mechanical Systems Certification Engineer in United Kingdom

B/E Aerospace, a wholly owned subsidiary of Rockwell Collins Inc., is a leading manufacturer of aircraft interior products and we currently have some exciting positions based at our Leighton Buzzard facility, including an Associate Certification Engineer.

Reporting to the Lead System Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the Certification Team on the A350 XWB galley program. The role is responsible for supporting the certification activities required to ensure that the designs comply with all the relevant EASA or FAA regulations for passenger aircraft seating, as well as meeting the defined contract requirements and scope of work. The main tasks will be related to the Fluid Systems such as the ventilation system on the galleys.

Key responsibilities include –

  • Generation and/or independent checking of:

  • Qualification plans/strategies

  • Qualification and test procedures

  • Qualification test reports (including conducting physical tests)

  • Statements of compliance against contractual and regulatory requirements

  • Technical specifications

  • Preparing and conducting qualification tests

  • Support shop floor activities (such as product enquiries, deviation requests and Acceptance Tests)

  • Work with the Design Team, Procurement and Program Management during product development to ensure all aspects are considered from the outset

  • Any other reasonable duties as requested

The Ideal candidate will have the following –

  • Degree or ONC/HNC in aerospace or mechanical engineering and/or proven related experience

  • Experience in compiling reports, and conducting tests

  • Be familiar with Aircraft terminologies

  • Design for certification (versus ‘certifying the design’)

  • A ‘Can Do’ attitude delivering change with the products and processes

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and all internal departments

  • Creative in solutions supporting both the company and the customer

  • Strong Team Member

  • Excellent reporting and communication skills
