SUMMARY

Key Responsibilities

 
Identify potential suppliers for the Structures Business who may be able to offer new, innovative products in accordance with programme objectives
Evaluate potential suppliers through an audit process
Working with the potential suppliers and the programme team, identify opportunities to reduce weight and cost, and address quality issues.
Maintain a minimal selection of suppliers with whom B/E can adopt a true "partnership sourcing" approach to minimise cost and increase profit throughout the supply chain.
With Supply Chain Manager and Company Lawyer, create and maintain appropriate supply agreements, leading the negotiation phase.
Lead contract implementation with suppliers ensuring a Supply Chain FMEA is completed to assess and mitigate risks
On a timely basis, lead the procurement, change management , sample validation and receipt of components to meet programme timing, commercial and quality objectives.
Monitoring and reporting supplier performance to compliment objectives on delivery and inventory.
Ensuring that new parts have all necessary supplier, commodity and cost data established on JDE
Ensure conformance to departmental procedures in all activities
Work in conjunction with engineering to achieve BOM cost targets for product designs
Supplier selection and contract implementation
Support production requirements on a timely basis

SUMMARY
As the Engineering Supervisor, Sustaining, you will have direct responsibilities for managing the Sustaining Engineering department for our aircraft Beverage Maker business unit. The Sustaining Engineering department is responsible for product and reliability improvements, production support, technical product support, product cost reduction initiatives and product upgrades in the field.

ENGINEER, SUPPLY LIAISON
 
Summary/Job Description:
 
Performs standard engineering assignments usually representing a significant portion of a larger project. Collects requirements from internal design and manufacturing teams and flows down to suppliers as specification documents. Reviews and selects engineering techniques for suppliers to solve problems and makes design recommendations.
Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities:Participates as a team member in a specific phase of a broad engineering assignment and ensures supplier technical deliverables are appropriate and meet specification..
Directs preparation of appropriate supplier documentation for assigned projects.
Provides technical leadership to a small group of temporarily assigned engineers and technicians.
Coordinates efforts with team members from other units of the company, including Engineering, Certification, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, etc.
Ensures successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.
Participates in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work for internal and supplier technical resources.
Performs other related duties as required.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from four-year college or university; and minimum three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
Language Skills:
 
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, associates, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
 
Reasoning ability:
 
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
