As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing and have a number of exciting positions available right now. BE Aerospace's Commercial Aircraft Segment is seeking energetic, self-starters for positions of Stores &Transportation Control Person with our Seating Manufacturing facility in Winston-Salem, NC. On a rotation basis, and as the workload requires, this position performs stock pulls, stock put-aways, inventory cycle count and internal distribution activities according to established guidelines in a timely and effective manner.
Major Responsibilities
* Operates a hand held computer, data collection terminal or similar device to effect issues, receipts, move locations, returns to stock and other adjustments as required by established procedures. This includes daily use of the mainframe terminal for various inquiries.
* Moves parts to Quality Assurance (QA) material reviewboard (MRB) ensuring proper transactionshavebeen input intothe system and corresponding paperwork is attached.
* Physically counts or operates scales to countand weigh parts and packages.
* Follows proper procedures to move or stock hazardous materials.
* Posts information such as quantity,code, description, order number, weight, etc. on order books, stock records, tags and cartons. Packages,prepares stencils, and stencils or marks boxes as specified.
* When required opens containers; checks quantity, type, and description against associates paper work. Records overages, shortages, improper or damaged materials. Places material in storage by area, by type, quantity, and value.
* Contacts other personnel on a routine question/answer basis to determine proper disposition of material.
* When required, operates powered industrial trucks (with operating license from B/E) to pick-up and deliver items within a specified area.
* Operates most material handling equipment (hand truck, order picker, forklift, pallet jack, three-wheeled transport vehicle, banding or strapping equipment, and miscellaneous hand tools.
* Assists in handling heavy or bulky materials and disposes of scrap, waste, defective and surplus materials.
* Performs required cycle count duties.
* Ensures conformance to blue prints, written procedures and quality specifications.Significant Related Duties:
* Maintains filing system ensuring that it is accurate, neat, and orderly.
* Reads Delta Notes on blue prints (no dimensional interpretation required) to provide outside processors with correct processing instructions. Identifies and protectively wraps parts when necessary.
* Ensures expeditious completion of required tasks. Analyzes daily situation to determine priorities and communicates ideas, problems, and expected deviations to supervision. Interacts with other departments to resolve problems.
* Communicates effectively with Management and other departments associated with the Stores and Transportation function to ensure completion of designated duties and other requirements.
* Notifies Quality Control of any obvious defects in spare parts or seats.
* Maintains a clean and safe work area. Represents B/E Aerospace in a professional and business-like manner at all times.
