As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing and have a number of exciting positions available right now. B/E Aerospace's Commercial Aircraft Segment is seeking energetic, self-starters for positions of Flammability Certification Engineers with our Seating Products Group in Winston-Salem, NC. These positions are responsible for preparing and documenting test plans and reports for submittal to commercial aircraft manufacturers and to the FAA.
Key Responsibilities
* Develops Technical Standard Orders (TSO's) and configuration reports to achieve FAAapproval.
* Prepares flammability test plans/reports and supports assigned program schedule
* Generates pre-test documentation for development and certification testing.
* Prepares and supports actual flammability testing by ordering test articles/materials, coordinating with program teams, and witnessing and documenting test reports.
* Assists in preparation of test samples in house and/or obtains the samples prepared by material suppliers.
* Acts as liaison with test houses to conduct the flammability testing in an expedient manner.
* Prepares test/analysis documentation for commercial aircraft manufacturers, customers, and regulatory approval.
* Works closely with senior level design engineers on new designs or applications.
* Works in other critical certification and testing activities as required.
* Performs other related duties as required.
Job Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Sciences, Aerospace Engineering or other technical degree from a four-year college or university and a minimum of one year of related experience.
* Prior experience with Unigraphics or other CAD software is preferred.
* Working knowledge of the regulatory flammability requirements is a plus.
* Demonstrated ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
* Must be comfortable working to meet firm deadlines in order to complete work on time.
* Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills, including strong technical writing skills.
* Demonstrated ability to solve problems and deal with a range of variables.
* Must be able to work effectively with cross functional teams.
* Ability to work proficiently in Microsoft Office Suite applicatoins and other project and engineering related software programs.
