As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing and have a number of exciting positions available now. BE Aerospace's Commercial Aircraft Segment is seeking energetic, self-starters for positions of Engineering Supervisors, Quality Assurance with our Seating Manufacturing Facility in Winston-Salem, NC. The position provides day-to-day supervision of the quality operations in the mechanical and electrical assembly of commercial aircraft seats. The Quality Assurance Supervisor has direct responsibility for product conformity to approved design and customer satisfaction as it relates to fit and finish quality.

Key Responsibilities

* Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality standards for products and processes. Ensures that project and/or process control documentation is compliant with requirements and/or contract.
* Directs the continuous improvement of production line quality assurance functions through supervision and training. Communicates and educates the business unit team members on matters requiring specialized knowledge of quality functions (e.g. acceptance test requirements, cosmetic specifications, installation of customer provided equipment, etc.).
* Refines and enhances products and processes by applying key lean manufacturing/production principles.
* Represents the business during design reviews and first article inspections (FAI's). Provides product level expertise during customer reviews.
* Supervises the inspection, sampling, and testing of parts and assemblies. Ensures the identification, control, and disposition of all non-conforming parts and assemblies.
* Leads and participates in problem solving exercises and process audits.
* Participates in new product introduction (NPI) gate reviews and supports the development of AQP initiatives in order to minimize quality issues on initial production programs. Leads supplier and in house improvement (Kaizen) events.
* Generates procedures and quality assurance process standards. Develops end article and constituent part acceptance specifications with focus on aesthetic and cosmetic requirements.
* Provides statistical information for quality improvement by gathering data on trends and root cause analysis. Implements corrective actions in collaboration with other functional groups.
* Directly supervises quality engineers and/or technicians. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and taking corrective actions with associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing product specifications, benchmarking other B/Eproduction, maintaining American Society for Quality certification, and/or participating in other professional associations
* Completes other duties and assigned projects as required.
Position Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university, and a minimum of two years experience working in a Quality or Engineering department within a manufacturing setting with stringent fit and finish requirements.
* Expert in interpreting engineering drawings (with GD&T) with the ability to query CAD models to verify and troubleshoot dimensions, tolerances, fitment issues, etc.
* In depth knowledge of ISO/AS9100/9102 standards.Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal-setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.
* Thorough knowledge of state-of-the-art inspection, quality inspection, quality engineering and assurance techniques, procedures, instruments, equipment, theories, principles and concepts, and general business operations.
* Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate to a wide range of stakeholders.
* Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Must be able to create process and value stream maps. Ability to effectively interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical and/or diagram form.
* Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel.
