Summary
B/E Aerospace is seeking an energetic, self-starter for the position of Primavera Planning and Control Specialist with our Super First Class Seating business unit in Tucson, Arizona. This position functions with minimum supervision as a lead team member in supporting the development and maintenance of the Primavera system to support project planning, management, resource allocation and scheduling.
B/E Aerospace Super First Class has chosen Primavera to become the Enterprise wide schedule and resource management tool for all new development commercial aerospace first class seating programs. The implementation of Primavera will be done at the B/E Super First Class business unit in both Tucson, Arizona and Miami, Florida. B/E Aerospace is looking for an experienced Primavera Planning and Control Specialist who is interested in being part of the implementation team to install Primavera within B/E Aerospace Super First Class. As Primavera will be a new system for B/E Aerospace-SFC, the successful candidate will be involved in setting up the architecture to run Primavera across all functional departments, work with an experienced Primavera consultant to conduct site training, and be involved in the methodology on how Primavera can be utilized across the program teams to deliver new aerospace seat development programs from inception through product introduction.
Role Description: This Candidate will provide expertise in managing all programs in the Oracle based Primavera management system. The Primavera Planning and Control Specialist will work with all functional department managers and key contributors to create program schedules which align to resources, customer requirements, program milestones and the phase gate protocol established at B/E Aerospace. This will require a high level of collaboration and willingness for the Primavera Planning and Control Specialist to be interactive.
The Primavera Planning and Control Specialist will also be responsible for the timely creation of Primavera derived dashboards and reports to support both the program managers and the Integrated Program Teams. The Primavera Planning and Control Specialist will work closely with the program management office and executive team to align the portfolio of multiple schedules with the business objectives and to show visibility to resource allocations at both the B/E Aerospace SFC-Tucson and Miami facilities.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Create and maintain engineering and design schedules in support of new product development aerospace projects
· Responsible for research and development of work breakdown structure (WBS) and the overall effectiveness of the Primavera (P6) scheduling system, and well as the WebPM functionality.
· Monitors and facilitates the scheduling process from both the long and short term perspective to assure that capital portfolio goals are met.
· Maximizes the efficiency of the work force through the scheduling process.
· Coordinates shared resource activities over multiple projects.
· Provides reports, research, and problem solving skills for various groups on multiple projects
· Provides analytical insight into project risks, risk thresholds, labor requirements, and financial targets.
· Provides direct support to Project Managers and functional department heads with information obtained from schedule updates and financial data.
· Advise Project Managers, IPTs and executive level management of schedule conflicts, outage limitations and associated risks.
· Manages scope, cost, and schedules by participating as an active project team member, developing project schedules, reviewing project cost estimates, developing project management plans, entering project budgeting information, and coordinating project funding updates with finance staff
· Reports on status and financial matters by developing and updating project reports detailing status, cost, and schedule, assisting project managers by providing up to date project cost and forecast information, and assisting departmental staff with reports and information as necessary.
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· 4 year University or College Degree
· Minimum of 4 years of full-time project scheduling experience in Primavera P6Web, Project Management v7xx and Timesheets v7xx, in a Production environment.
· Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
· Must understand program management processes and philosophies (e.g. Change Management, Integrated Product Teams, Project Baselines, etc.).

SUMMARY
In conjunction with key R&amp;D and business stakeholders and Program Managers, build and lead a team responsible for defining and shaping the overall system architecture, systems integration and systems validation and verification strategy for an aircraft system technologies.

This position reports to the VP of Engineering and provides status of engineering team performance, on time completion, efficiency, quality and cost.  They will analyze variance with plan and provide detailed analysis of main drivers, and develop corrective actions with engineering team to improve performance and improve planning accuracy.
Duties include:
Provide Engineering performance status for:
* Engineering efficiency (Weekly, monthly and yearly)

Support preparation of monthly engineering delivery forecasts, reconcile actual with forecasts by program and by activity, and analyze variances in detail with team leaders and determine root cause.
Support preparation of engineering financials forecast, yearly and monthly updates, reconcile actual with forecast, and analyze variances in detail to determine root cause and potential corrective actions.
Collect information from various systems to prepare status, define and implement new data collection solutions where necessary to improve reporting, and manage the implementation of corrective actions related to performance and evaluate effectiveness.
Qualifications:
The candidate must have a BS degree from four-year college or university in Engineering or Program Management and at least 5 years experience in the aerospace industry, either in program management or in engineering.  They must be self motivated and capable to work independently, be able to work under the pressure of critical deadlines and they must be extremely efficient in the use of Access, Excel, PowerPoint, general scheduling process, basic financial understanding and have basic notions of CAD and PLM systems.
 
The candidate must have good lean experience, be able to run kaizen events, create value stream mapping and use six sigma analysis techniques (Six sigma green belt would be a plus).
 
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Manages the overall financial performance of specific programs which are accounted for under both the percentage of completion (POC) method of accounting and capitalized
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 

• Works closely with engineering, program management, and production departments to establish initial program budgets; reviews initial standard costs for reasonableness and maintains historical references of cost and revenue.

• Determine, analyze, and report program performance by reviewing approved contracts, all program costs, including manufacturing, engineering and any other specific program expenses.  Completes sensitivity analysis on programs as needed.

• Prepares and presents total program performance combined with variances to last forecast in monthly program reviews and to meet other local and corporate requests. 

• Interprets the impact of commercial changes within a dynamic environment on the financial performance of a program including preparing and communicating at all levels program risks and opportunities.

• Develops strong working relationship with the local Cost Manager in order to ensure early notification of cost deviation to program teams.  Brings awareness to key changes such as labor hour trends, material cost changes / risk, or other important cost elements / trends.

• Incorporates continuous improvement into every day work and looks for opportunities to remove waste from processes.  Works within professional communities to drive standardization of processes.

• Develops or uses existing methods to identify, categorize, capture, and report actual costs of program segments (non-recurring engineering or recurring production); analyzes and summarizes variances from budget and forecast.

• Provide forecasts for key areas of responsibility.  Works closely with engineering, program management, and production to ensure forecasts are met (i.e. spending, WIP pulled, etc.).

• Maintains detailed and organized documentation of all program data. (i.e. contracts, schedules, budgets, support for actual shipments, actual costs, revenue and expense revisions).

• Uses system to acquire actual costs of shipments and actual engineering expenses.  Works with accounting to calculate, reconcile and complete journal entries to report results on percentage-of-completion basis.

• Acts as a strong business partners to program managers to complete periodic status reviews, understand timetables and program terminology. Conducts regular monthly meetings with program managers to discuss financial status of programs and prepare monthly and annual program revenue and expense budgets.  Communicates both verbally and in writing with senior-level group engineering, production, and financial management on actual results and forecasts.

• Provides proactive analysis and drives corrective action with the stakeholders in order to avoid surprises.   Has a firm understanding of variances and can clearly articulate to program management and leadership team.

• Ensures effective systems, procedures, and policies are maintained and in compliance with corporate requirements and SOX policies.  Provides timely responses to audit requests and ensures no repeat audit findings.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
The incumbent will assist the Program Manager as requested:
* Ensures the achievement of assigned financial and organizational goals by servicing and maintaining existing accounts while proactively developing new accounts through capitalization of sales opportunities.
* Serves as the liaison between the customer and various internal Consumables Management departments and provides product/service information to customers to ensure they receive world-class service.  This includes advising CM finance/accounting department of change in contract performance and audit of inventory levels and performance; interfacing with the customer and CM departments regarding quality control and the purchase of inventory
* Has decision making authority as it relates to daily program support related to contractual obligations.
