- JOB SUMMARY*
Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, the Manufacturing Clerk will be the first help chain to the team members (hourly associates) and is responsible for execution and well functioning of the cells. The role will assist the Manufacturing Supervisor to achieve maximum productivity in their assigned area by working with the team members to conduct process problem solving and issue resolution. The Manufacturing Clerk is responsible for executing assigned tasks in support of team initiatives in order to serve B/E’s internal and external customers.
Answers and addresses questions from team members as it relates to completion of their daily responsibilities.
Assists the Supervisor to schedule the daily work flow.
Ensures daily schedule is being met and daily goals are being attained at the line level.
Facilitates problem solving meetings with team members to improve cell safety, delivery, quality, and throughput.
Supports execution of Pre-Production Builds.
Assists the Manufacturing Supervisor with administrative tasks such as:
o Walking each station to verify material readiness, tool presence, and safety equipment is functional
o Gathering required data and conducting start of team huddle
o Assessing attendance status and coverage
o Following up on Cell Issues
o Checking Team Members to assure PPE and CPE is being worn and all safety process and procedures are being followed
o Verifying Standard Work is being followed
o Disposition scrap generated
o Checking 5S conditions, adhering to 5S principles and procedures, and assisting in the completion of 5S action items
o Updating Gemba Board (cell level)
o Entering Production Reworks (PRWKs), Production Support Requests (PSRs) and Non-Conforming Reports (NCRs)
o Completing end of shift communication to supervisor
Trains and mentors new team members in the cells.
Supports team initiatives to attain acceptable metric performance in the areas of safety, quality, customer service, and productivity.
Ensures production processes are followed.
Suggests improvements for the assigned area, and works closely with the production supervisor to refine and implement solutions to systemic problems.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Requires the ability to use a computer and MS Office (i.e. Excel, Word and Outlook).
Experience working with and effectively reading blueprints and/or schematics.
Skilled at communicating technical information to non-technical personnel.
Experience implementing new policies, procedures and programs effectively.
Knowledge of 5S Practices.
Required to successfully complete and pass a color test, measurement test, reading/writing test, and small font test.
Ability to lift and/or carry up to 30 lbs.
