As a Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer you will provide leadership in developing strategies to enhance the overall quality of incoming product through supplier managmeent and development. You will serve as a leader and a resource regarding supplier quality issues, problem solving and continuous improvement efforts. Other responsibilities include:
* Leading efforts to drive improvement in supplier quality through implementation of supplier quality improvement strategies.
* Champions the Supplier Quality Improvement Team (SQIT)
* Works with supplier organizations to rectify and improve OTD and quality issues. Develops and executes improvement plans with suppliers as required
* Develops and maintains comprehensive procedures and policies to measure and ensure supplier performance.
* Develops and executes comprehensive supplier audit plan.
* Trains and mentors supplier auditors
* Leads process assessments/audits, recommends improvements, and monitors implementation of changes.
* Reviews capability and capacity of supplier and informs management of significant gaps.
* Promotes design for manufacturability by working with Product Engineering and suppliers.
* Responsible for key internal quality metrics (Supplier OTD, and Quality).
* Leads efforts required to develop, implement, and verify manufacturing control systems at suppliers.
* Implements quality improvement activities with supply chain.
* Initiates Corrective Action Report management and resolution.
* Develops supplier certification program to select, evaluate, monitor and de-select suppliers.
* Implements supplier scorecard to measure suppliers on critical characteristics, reviewing scorecards with suppliers and with nonconforming suppliers to develop action plans
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and a minimum of five years relaged experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Requirements:
* Experience working with International suppliers is preferred
* Fluent in ISO, QS or TS quality systems
* Demonstrated experience conducting supplier audits
* Experience in the following commodities: electronics, plastics, metals and machining
* Familiar with APQP and PPAP processes
* Quality Certifications for ASQ is a plus
