As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing and have a number of exciting positions available right now. B/E Aerospace's Commercial Aircraft Segment is seeking energetic, self-starters for the position of Engineering Project Lead at our Lenexa, KS facility. At our Lenexa site we manufacture and assemble a wide selection of passenger and crew oxygen storage and delivery systems. This position is responsible for building and leading a team responsible for defining and shaping the overall system architecture, systems integration and systems validation and verification strategy for aircraft system technologies for our Life Support Systems Group.

Key Responsibilities:
* Functions as the primary technical contact point, both internal and external, within a specified project for all aspects of design and implementation.
* Provides technical and organizational leadership to all engineering persons within a project team.
* Maintains and oversees accurate engineering cost and milestone tracking.
* Provides regular technical progress updates to the Engineering & Project Manager either written or within a progress meeting.
* Provides regular status reports of project engineering progress for all disciplines to the customer by the agreed time
* Assesses applicability of proposed tests/products/equipment to assigned project(s).
* Assists in the preparation of proposals, including review of: specifications, Terms & Conditions, sub-contractor selection, equipment selection and overall cost structure.
* May directly supervise exempt and/or nonexempt associates.

Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural, or Electrical Engineering and a minimum of five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Requirements:
* Strong leadership skills
* Experience in project management
* Knowledge of FAA regulations or other regulated environment
* Experience in fluid mechanics, valve design, high pressure systems or elector-mechanical products
* Experience designing product from idea/concept to final production
* Must be a self starter and team player
