As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing and have a number of exciting positions available right now. B/E Aerospace's Commercial Aircraft Segment is seeking energetic, self-starters for the position of Engineering Manager at our Lenexa, KS facility. At our Lenexa site we manufacture and assemble a wide selection of galley insert equipment including coffee and espresso makers, water boilers and liquid containers. This position is responsible for providing management review and control over multiple units of engineering work for our beverage maker products, including development of new products and/or processes as part of a major engineering program.

Key Responsibilities:

* Integrates several specialized areas of engineering.
* Manages one discipline over a range of products or processes, or a diverse range of engineering disciplines within subordinate units (engineering project leads, mechanical engineers, electrical/software engineers).
* Focuses on managerial concerns of the project such as cost, completion date, and resource allocation; provides expert resolution of issues and monitors integration of work.
* Reviews technical concepts of major projects.
* Personally participates in solving particularly difficult technical problems.
* Responsible for recruitment, performance reviews, and training needs.
* Manages subordinate supervisor(s) who supervise nonexempt associates. May also directly supervise exempt and nonexempt associates.
* Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
 
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university and a minimum of five years related experience and/or training
Preferred Requirements:
* Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and implement appropriate solutions
* Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
* Must be able to travel domestically and internationally
* Demonstrated ability to define strategy, supporting processes, and ensure implementation
* Experience managing new product development process with electro-mechanical type products is a plus
