Purpose of the Job
 
Provide engineering design solutions for the Seating business.
 
Organisational Reporting
 
This role reports directly to Engineering Manager for the Seating and Aftermarket Business.
 
Network & Relationships
Internal:
* Design Engineers
* Certification Engineers
* Product Data Management Team
* Product Support & Special Projects Team
* Recommended Spares Parts List Team
 
External:
* Winston Salem facility
* Suppliers
 
Key Responsibilities
 
* Raise the appropriate documentation to support any design changes.        This will include modifying existing and creating new drawings, models and assemblies using the Unigraphics / Nx5 3D software & Teamcenter. Generating Engineering Change Notes. Using accepted Industry & Company standards and working to agreed milestones within Project plans.
* The creation of Service Bulletins.
* Provide shop floor engineering support.
* Liaison with Winston Salem facility on Seating Programmes
* Experience of Electrical as well as Mechanical drawings / models and layouts would be desirable
* Checking Documentation / Drawings prior to submission for approval
* Any other reasonable duties
 
Travel %
 0-10% dependant upon business needs
 
Educational Requirements
 
* The suitable applicant will posses either an engineering degree or has been educated to HNC standard with the appropriate experience.
 
Knowledge / Experience
 
* The suitable applicant will possess an engineering background in aircraft interior products preferably in a design office environment and be familiar with Unigraphics / Nx5 3D software packages.
* Familiarity with Boeing and Airbus working practices would be an advantage
* Familiarity with working in a Project Management environment would be an advantage
 
Technical Skills / Competencies
 
* Ability to create engineering drawings, models and assemblies to recognised Aerospace standards.
 
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings presented in various different styles and formats.
 
* Ability to communicate effectively with customers and across various departments.
 
* Effective use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
