As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including the Director of Trade Compliance position at our headquarters in Miami, FL.
OBJECTIVE:
Develops and implements long and short range plans for export and import compliance within the Business Unit. Provide leadership on compliance and regulatory requirements worldwide.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develop, manage and implement a global trade compliance strategy, programs and related projects to ensure compliance with the export control and import laws and regulations in all countries where CM does business
* Establish the product jurisdiction and classification system
* Develop and maintain an EMCP and Import Compliance manual which states the policies and procedures for compliance
* Lead the day-to-day export and import operations and advise company management on trade compliance initiatives, objectives, and associated risks
* Oversee and direct import and export control compliance for business locations, globally
* Manage import and export procedures to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations (i.e. NAFTA, etc.)
* Determine export and import requirements and partnering with functional groups to develop compliant business/sales/operational strategies
* Implement a global export and import audit program
* Create an employee training program and training materials
* Ensures all submissions to the U.S. Government are timely (i.e. export licenses, disclosures, request for information, etc.)
* Performs continuous analysis of trade regulations to ensure the timely provision of guidance to the business and implementation of procedural changes
* Form and chair a Trade Compliance council and participate in relevant outside trade compliance groups/councils
* Manage and supervise staff
* Reporting to upper management as needed.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field. MBA is highly preferred
* Minimum of ten (10) to fifteen (15) years experience in international regulatory operations
* Must be proficient in all MS Office applications (i.e. Access, Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
* Excellent communication skills, at all levels of the organization
* Demonstrated track record leading and influencing cross functional teams
* Proven success in implementing regulatory process in lean organizations with minimal cost and impact to business
* Proven leadership in regulatory compliance roles
* Experience in implementing international regulations in a global format
* Ability to function in a regulatory role and business role simultaneously
* Working knowledge of EAR, ITAR, US Customs regulations, HTS, and Schedule B Number
* Knowledgeable of Aerospace parts and products
* Six Sigma Blackbelt certification is preferred
* Must be a US national
