Advanced Thermal Sciences* is growing rapidly and has number of exciting positions available right now, including a *Manufacturing Engineer. * This position will be based in Anaheim, CA however you will have the unique opportunity to live and work in our Tokyo, Japan location for a portion of the year.
Ensures successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.
Participates in defining manufacturing/engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work.
Performs professional Manufacturing Engineering assignments of an intermediate degree of complexity under general direction and supervision with some discretion as to work details.
Provides support in the design, fabrication, modification and evaluation of manufacturing operations.
Provides input to plans, process specifications and procedures, production aids and assembly fixtures, MRP support studies, factory cost work standards development, and the like.
Compiles and evaluates test and production data, prepares technical analysis, recommends manufacturing methods and processes required to meet design objectives on new or improved products and/or processes.
Provides production floor and assembly support in technical matters relating to assembly drawing interpretation, engineering change notices, rework, manufacturing difficulties and specifications.
Performs other related duties as required.
BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Thermal) with at least 3 year's engineering experience.
Previous experience with refrigeration.
Able to live/work in Japan
MRP knowledge (JD Edwards preferred) required.
Proficient in Solid Works
Knowledge with supply chain process as ME support.
Experience in designing manufacturing aides and tooling
CAD/Drafting experience (GD&T)
Working knowledge for mechanical and electrical assemblies.
Experience in technical writing (work instructions, processes, etc.)
Experience with working with suppliers to prove or improve processes.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Previous experience with aviation or medical equipment qualification processes desirable.
Lean manufacturing and Kaizen experience.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to directly interface with both internal department employees and external suppliers and customers.
Excellent computer skills and familiarity with common PC software such as Microsoft Office.
Positive attitude and ability to collaborate with both Engineering and Production
Fluent or Semi Fluent in Japanese
Machinery Design Experience
Knowledge of Refrigeration Systems
Knowledge of pumping/hydraulic systems
Knowledge of Electronics and PLC’s
