  • JOB SUMMARY*

Reporting to the Director of Program Management, the Program Manager serves as Primary Customer Interface for all technical, contractual and production matters. Confers with senior management and all members of IPT to outline work plan and responsibilities. Manages activities of IPT and others to ensure program progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.

 

  • JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

Develop Statement of Work (SOW) for program specific requirements.  Ensure customer requirements are met and in the best interests of Rockwell Collins by creating baseline plan.

Compiles status reports and modifies schedules or plans as required; prepares program reports for Senior Management, Customer, or others.

Confers with program personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.

May indirectly (dotted-line) supervise exempt and/or nonexempt associates and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.

Establishes operational objectives and assignments. Objectives are reviewed by senior management to determine success of operation.

Broad knowledge of appropriate engineering disciplines and technology, finance and contract administration, customer procurement procedures, program and contracts management concepts as well as marketing techniques and strategies.

Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation and knowledge of various factors.

Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Develop business plans, prepare detailed project schedules, prepare status and tracking matrixes, conduct teleconferences, prepare financial progress reports, write business letters and email correspondence, prepare risk assessments and contingency plans.

 

  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS*

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university

Minimum eight (8) years of related experience in Program Management

Experience in an aerospace or defense manufacturing company

Previous P&L responsibility for programs

Previous experience with new product development program(s)

Ability to travel both domestic and international

 

  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

Degree in Program Management, Engineering or Business strongly preferred

MBA or Masters in Program Management or a technical discipline from an accredited university or college is a bonus.

PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification from PMI

Knowledge of certification process for commercial aircraft

Experience with Teamcenter or equivalent PDM/PLM software.

Strong business and financial acumen.

Experienced user of MS Office and MS Project.

Experience with complex engineering development programs.

Strong leadership skills, able to manage and motivate a diverse group of employees, and ability to excel at consensus building.

Experience with matrix management in an integrated product team environment.

Experience working to complete any task at any level to get the job done.

Experience with Primavera software.
