As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including an Engineering Project Lead in our Refrigeration Products business located in Anaheim, CA.

  • JOB SUMMARY*

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Engineering Project Lead, will coordinate a team of engineers responsible for the architecture, integration, validation and verification for aircraft system technologies. Manage all aspects of a project from start to finish according to specifications, on time and within budget. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.

 

  • JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:*

  • Functions as the primary technical contact point, both internal and external, within a specified project for all aspects of design and implementation.

  • Provides technical and organizational leadership to all engineering persons within a project team.

  • Maintains and oversees accurate engineering cost and milestone tracking.

  • Provides regular ‘technical’ progress updates to the Engineering & Program Manager either written or within a progress meeting.

  • Provides regular status reports of project engineering progress for all disciplines to the customer by the agreed time, with a copy.

  • Assesses applicability of proposed tests/products/equipment to assigned project(s).

  • Assists in the preparation of proposals, including review of: specifications, Terms & Conditions, sub-contractor selection, equipment selection and overall cost structure.

  • Performs other related duties as required

  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:*

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A) from four-year college or university

  • Five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Previous aerospace experience with a working knowledge of Boeing or Airbus requirements

  • Previous project coordination/leadership experience

  • Experience with leading cross-functional technical projects (e.g, Software, Mechanical Hardware, Electronics)

  • Experience with project scheduling/integrated master scheduling and understanding of the design, development, test, and qualify/certify phases of a program

  • Experience reviewing drawings, qualification test procedures and documents

  • Experience with tools such as key performance indicators (KPIs): drawing and document completion lists, technical performance measures (TPMs), earned value or milestone check list

  • Experience leading/conducting major design reviews (e.g., Requirements Review, PDR, CDR, etc.) and making key technical decisions

 

  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

  • Previous experience with DOORS requirements management tool

  • Familiar with risk management concepts for technical risks
